Not too long ago, the ImageFIRST team gathered for our Thanksgiving Luncheon, where our associates got together for some food, fun and friendship. While breadcrumbs may be the only remnants left of Thanksgiving, it’s important that we don’t forget to be continually thankful all year round.
Here are three reasons why being grateful is important:
- It can improve your mood! - There’s plenty of evidence that illustrates that being grateful (or even thanking someone) can have a lasting effect on your mood. It’s backed by science: Many psychologists agree that expressing gratitude can boost your overall happiness and well-being.
- The holidays are here! - The holidays are the perfect time to look back and reflect on the year. As you gather with friends and family, take some time to appreciate all of the incredible things you have in your life. Speaking of incredible things - have you seen our latest line of high-quality medical scrub uniforms that we offer in Lansing, MI, and beyond? They’d make a great gift for your healthcare facility’s staff.
- It’s kind, contagious and costs nothing! - Being nice is free, and it affects everybody around you. A simple compliment, a “thank you” or a caring gesture can completely transform somebody’s day.
Gratitude comes full-circle. Whether or not you express gratitude daily, paying attention to those things you appreciate can train you to see more and more of them, which will help you learn to be more grateful.
For example, our Thanksgiving potluck luncheon is one of the many activities that we are grateful for. We followed up with a special Tuesday morning huddle, during which about 35 associates went around the room sharing what they were grateful for. Statements we heard such as “We’re very protective of our culture because this is such a special place,” showcase just how much we have to be grateful for here at ImageFIRST.
The ImageFIRST purpose is to positively impact the lives of our associates, our community, our customers and our customers’ patients. That’s why we live and work by our core values: Be Respectful, Be Remarkable, Be Safe, and Be Honest.
